ROLE TITLE: Treasurer

RESPONSIBLE TO: The Club Committee

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Good accountancy knowledge and a financial background
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good administrative and communication skills
  • Reliable, flexible and approachable
  • Confidentiality and tact
  • Well organised
  • Able to keep records
  • Confident about handling figures and money
  • Prepared to make a regular time commitment

ROLE PURPOSE:

  1. To ensure the club remains solvent.
  2. Prepare and manage budgets for all areas of the club’s work.
  3. To advise individual sections of the club about all financial matters.
  4. To produce an annual report and financial review of the accounts for the Annual General Meeting.

MAIN DUTIES:

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the club.
  2. Establish and maintain club bank/building society account and banking arrangements.
  3. Report financial position to the committee.
  4. Collect and deposit all fees, subscriptions and funds.
  5. Prepare and issue receipts for monies received.
  6. Ensure that funds are spent appropriately.
  7. Explore funding opportunities for the club.
  8. Pay any bills incurred.
  9. Prepare end-of-year financial report for AGM.
  10. In agreement with the committee, plan the annual budget.
  11. To monitor the budget throughout the year.
