Match Report – 3rds see of 7 man centurions
10 August 2013 – Bramshaw 3rd XI v Centurions
by Tom Mason
They only turned up with seven players so it was an easy decision when we won the toss to bat. We made a shaky start with George, and Richard falling quickly. Andy and Harry B then steadied it up before Harry nicked one behind bringing Taylor in who scored a brisk 13 before nicking one behind. This brought Jon C who battled well with Andy rescuing our innings from the brink. These two continued to bat us back into the game with some big hitters still in the hutch. John then required a runner and Richard took up the duty they lasted a while before John got bowled for an excellent 35 which helped us build to a decent total. Kaush, Charlie and Kev were all quickly out. This brought me in wanting to push the score above 200 still being 17 off with 7 overs left. I and Andy added a fair amount of runs before he got bowled for an excellent 86 and he had opened so did a great job for us. I and Chris saw us through until the last ball when Chris got bowled meaning we were 220 all out.
After a great tea, they were effectively 0-4 at the start. It didn’t take all of that long for us to get amongst the wickets and it was Taylor who picked up the first of his six wickets. He picked up 4 bowled wickets and two catches behind from Andy and Kev and this match was done in 8 overs with Taylor taking all six wickets as they capitulated to 43 all out!!
Not a great match in all honesty!!
