Bramshaw undone by a strong Woodgreen

11 August 2013 Club XI v Woodgreen

by Tom Mason

Joe and Clasby opened up both showing their early intentions with some certain shots. Clasby then fell for ten a few overs later. These brought Andy C in who with Joe added some quick runs and were both batting very well as this was only a 35-over match it looked as if no one else would get to bat but once Joe was out for an excellent 70 which sparked a mini collapse with a wicket next ball and one not long after. This brought in Andy Hodder who took to the bowling before getting out for a quick 15-bring. Then was Declan who got out caught in the deep going for the big shot which would have been six if it had been dropped. Andy C was also out for an excellent 70. This brought in George who had been dropped first ball and I got stumped first ball which meant Arthur S went in without pads on and lasted two balls before getting out meaning we had reached 194-9.

After a great tea George and Tarty opened up and George picked up three wickets but after he finished bowling everyone else toiled really. There were lots of bowlers who tried but over then a run out resulting from a dropped catch from Declan was their batsmen who had scored a load of runs. In the end, the match was won from a bye in what had started well with two good knocks from Joe and Andy but it never really looked like we would win once George had finished his excellent spell.

An extremely one-sided match!!!
