Match Report – 3rds undone by Cadnam

20 July 2013 – Bramshaw 3rd XI v Cadnam

by Tom Mason

On another glorious day, we won the toss and batted first knowing that Cadnam had dropped down several players as their first team from County 2 didn’t have a match. Andy and George opened up seeing the first initial overs. Andy, George, Clasby and Kaush were all out in quick succession for single figures scores. Taylor then scored a quick 13 before he and Declan were quickly out. This brought Kev and Charlie to the crease bringing our highest stand of the day both scoring positively trying to save the innings but more to get some batting points kev was then out and was quickly followed by me and Chris and we had been able to reach 80 which was about 250 short knowing what batting line up they had. Their first teamer finished with figures of 6-28.

After another excellent tea Charlie and Taylor opened up knowing that only quick wickets would do the trick and Taylor did get one caught and bowled after a clever reaction catch. We didn’t get any further Luck with their first teamer smashing it all over the place before Taylor ran out the other batsmen meaning we got 1 bonus point before they quickly reached their target after only 11 overs. Their first teamer finished unbeaten on 58. This was an incredibly unlucky match as this won’t happen very often.
