Match Report – Bramshaw knocked out of VKO against Sparsholt
Bramshaw v Sparsholt VKO 2013
Bramshaw won the toss and elected to field first with Joe and Jamie opening the bowling and bowling well but with Sparsholt playing in the southern league anything slightly off got punished. On came Tarty and Mangle both bowling well and trying to limit the runs. Still without a wicket they were 160 odd for 0 and on came T.wall and Bones for a bit of variation and this seemed to pay off as Bones picked up two quick wickets including their opener who reached over 150 in no time at all. As the runs continued to hammer on I came on to see if I could do anything and form an amazing 2nd catch from Aaron. Then on came Joe Coombs to see off the innings and try to see if he could pick up any more wickets and indeed he did from a good catch from Tarty in the last few overs and George Gray bowled to finish the innings which seemed to take all day and they finished on the 357 in 40 overs.
After a good tea, Jamie Terris and Tarty opened up the batting starting well before Jamie got out and then Boyd came to join Tarty. There was a few runs added before he fell and then Mark came in to join Tarty and they created a very good partnership before he departed for 25 and then in came Aaron and soon after Tarty fell for a big but fast innings. Then came in George G who was unlucky to be out and then in came Coombs who scored some quick runs and he was joined by James W who got out quickly and then came in T.wall and he lasted quite a while before he was out to a spinner. Then I came in and had about a 30-run partnership with Joe in which I added just the 1 run. Soon after Joe got bowled for 33 and then the last man in Bones lasted a few deliveries before he got caught.
A good effort especially as we only had 10 fielders.
