Match Report – 3rds Comfortably win preseason friendly against Hythe
4th May 2013 – Bramshaw 3rd XI v Hythe
by Tom Mason
On arrival, it was an extremely sunny day at Hythe’s pitch at Blackfield & Langley. George J and Josh and then they were In for a few overs before George got out bowled and he was quickly followed by Josh before a bit of stability and the runs became more accessible with Pete batting and he added useful runs with Stew S, Kaush and Kev L before he reached his 100 a few overs before the end of the innings and with some big hitting towards the end especially form Peter who ended up unbeaten with Kev.L. We ended up beyond 250 which were always going to be a very competitive score.
We were greeted with a fabulous tea before heading out to the field in the bright sunshine and Josh and Phil opened the bowling each getting a wicket and bowling tidily keeping the runs down. Before Tom M, T Wall came on to bowl both picking up wickets in our spells and keeping them well below the rate required. Then on came the man of the moment Kaush backed by his 3 wickets on Thursday and his 34 runs with the bat today he bowled excellently in picking up 4 wickets in quick succession to end any hint of them suddenly fighting back. Then George bowled reducing the runs before Kaush finished it all up with his 4th wicket of the match.
A great team performance and a great way to start the season let’s bring this into the game with Farley next Saturday.
