Match Report – U15s go second with 2 wins out of 2 in the league

3rd June 2012 – Totton & Eling U15s v Bramshaw

by Tom Mason

On a bright summer’s morning, Bramshaw was invited to take the first knock and so George and Josh continued their opening partnerships for the under fifteens and both got off to a very good start to leave Bramshaw on 50 – 0 off 10 overs. Once Josh got out wickets started tumbling around George but with some help from the lower middle order Bramshaw built a good total once, George got out for thirty Sam and Kaush were in for the last over and batted well playing some good shots allowing Bramshaw to see out there innings on a competitive 98.

Then it was Totton and Eling’s chance to try and change down this very competitive score. They got off to a slow start with some good bowling from Taylor and Jonty picking up some wickets and restricting the runs before the most humorous moment of the season so far (not in my opinion!). I was going to stop a four at the end by the houses in Totton and Elings ground and managed to do so but my momentum carried me forward and I hit the pole. When I was off for a few overs a few more wickets went down and the runs were restricted. When I came back on 60 runs were required from 7 overs and there was some tight bowling and a few loose hits T&E lost their way and lost quite a few late wickets and were never close and in the end, we won by 35 runs. There were also some good spells from Jamie, Marky, Charlie and Sam.

Good luck next week at home to Cadnam.
