Match Report – U11’s open their season with a narrow 11 run defeat

Batting first Bramshaw reached 239 with Nick Cooper and Rob Williams making the bulk of the runs. A special mention here for Joel Homer, Ella Dewhurst and Hannah Curl who were not out through their allotted 4 overs of batting. Adam Cooper also hit his first runs for the team.

In reply, Bramshaw had Langley Manor struggling early on thanks to excellent bowling from Adam Cooper 2-14, Sam Hoyland 1-16 and Sam Dewhurst 1-8. Joel Homer only conceded 3 runs from his first Bramshaw over. Supported by good wicketkeeping from Hannah Curl with only 1 bye conceded in 16 overs the tight bowling and good fielding meant the game was in the balance coming into the last 2 overs. Despite Rob Williams conceding only 9 runs from his 3 overs and Nick Cooper 11 runs from his 3 overs Bramshaw just lost out to a strong last Langley Manor whose Hampshire Under 11 player proved to be the difference.

An excellent team performance from every player who can all be very proud of their efforts.
