Match Report – U11’s get their first win
A fantastic bowling and fielding effort backed up by a sensible batting display earned Bramshaw a well-deserved 35-run win and first victory of the season. Fielding first all seven Bramshaw bowlers bowled superbly. Nick Cooper 3-0-8-1, Rob Williams 2-0-3-1, Jack Booth 3-2-6-2, Adam Cooper 2-0-8-1, Sam Hoylan 2-0-7-1, Sam Dewhurst 2-0-6-0 and Joel Homer 2-0-10-1 put Wellow in trouble throughout their innings which closed on 213 from their 16 overs. The fielding was outstanding with every player playing their part. Hannah Curl was sharp behind the stumps conceding only 1 bye for the second week running. The mid-innings talk centred around batting sensibly and not losing wickets (which count as minus 5 runs).
With each player batting for four overs in pairs Sam Dewhurst and Sam Hoylan began the reply positively and despite losing a wicket the partnership set up the rest of the innings nicely. Hannah Curl and Joel Homer continued the positive batting again despite losing a wicket during their partnership. That proved to be the second and last wicket Wellow picked up as Jack Booth and Adam Cooper followed by Nick Cooper and Rob Williams contributed 34 untroubled runs through their 8 overs.
Bramshaw finished their overs on 248 for a comprehensive and thoroughly deserved victory.
