Match Report – Bramshaw v Calmore, Border League
Bramhsaw v Calmore 22 May 2012
by Tom Arnold
On a steaming hot Tuesday night Matt Reeve, the skipper, lost the toss and we were put into the field. Youngster James Mason opened up and had a unique over with sixes and James taking a wicket. Jamie Martin came on from the other end and piled on the pressure bowling tightly. Calmore were ticking over nicely but Coombes and Reeve tried to stop them but had to look to Left-arm spinner Patel for some assistance with his flight and grenades keeping Calmore down to 140 with a special effort to the Youngsters who fielded very well (Kaush, George, Josh & James).
Bramshaw went into bat with Tom Arnold and Matt Reeve opening up but wickets fell around Tom and only Johnny Murray, with 20, resisted. With Tom scoring well the team was closing in on Calmores score but with 13 off the least over needed Coombes couldn’t hit the vital runs and Bram was 3 runs short. It was a great effort for the young Team we had.
Romsey A next week at home in the Cup so let’s get some support.
