Match Report – Whiteparish v Bramshaw 3rds

After some late promotions to the 2nds a weakened 3rd team lost their belated season opener at Whiteparish. Captain Phil won the toss and chose to bat on a slow damp pitch. We were soon in trouble losing Brian and Nigel to their opening bowler (5-12) and apart from top scorer Rich Beresford, and for a time Nick Darch, the wickets fell frequently until we were all out for 79.

A lovely tea was enjoyed but it would prove difficult to defend such a low score. Nick took a wicket but Whiteparish got the runs required. Special mentions and well-dones do to Hannah Curl, for holding an end up and helping the team get a 2nd batting point, Young Richard Cooper, who is looking like a proper player, and Ian Whitcher for helping the team field 11.

Our season continues with Great Durnford at home this week. Here’s to a positive result.
