Match Report – Under 13s opening game ends in defeat against Totton & Eling
17th May 2012 – Totton & Eling v Bramshaw U13s
by Tom Mason
It was a cold windy night in Totton and the under-thirteen’s had their first match of the season; Jonty Loveless won the toss and put Totton into bat. Jonty picked up two quick early wickets but then Totton had a mini fight back whilst there were also good spells from Ben Chandler, Richard Cooper, Ritesh, Declan and Cameron Crawford.
As the wickets started falling, there was a bit of a feeling that it might rain however this held off and Totton posted a competitive 95-8 from their 18 overs. Then it was Bramshaw’s turn to bat with Ben Chandler and Richard Cooper opening the batting, they got off to a bit of a shaky start with Ben, Richard, Rory and Declan all falling quickly before Jonty came in and scored 23 in a very sensible manner and at this point, it looked like a win could be possible. After that the scoring rate went down and the wickets started tumbling and a win started to fade away. There was some steady batting at the end of the innings and Bramshaw fell 32 runs short in the end.
Better luck in your next game which is at home to OTs & Romsey!!!
