Match Report – U15s cup run ends with narrow defeat

27th May 2012 – Ringwood v Bramshaw U15s

by Tom Mason

Bramshaw batted first and started confidently with George and Josh opening up and after a few nervy overs the runs started coming more frequently before George got out bowled. Then it was Richard into the crease who lasted about an over before getting caught by a close catcher. It was then Henry in and he scored some quick runs with Josh to keep the scoreboard ticking over before he was out. Then Taylor was into the wicket, and after that, Josh got out caught at mid-on for 35. Then it was Jonty who with Taylor batted out the rest of the innings with Jonty scoring 10* and Taylor scoring 39* and Bramshaw set Ringwood a competitive 112-4 from their 20 overs.

After the break, Ringwood got off to a solid start keeping up with the run rate with no inroads. Then it was time for the first change after Jamie and Jonty both bowled well restricting the runs and creating wickets it was the turn of Tommy Mason who leaked a few runs but picked up a wicket at a crucial time. There was also some more good bowling from Kaush who kept it tight picked up a wicket and sparked a couple of run-outs. This kept it tense witch Richard Cooper bowled the last over they required 8 to win and 7 to tie. The first ball was very full and was called a no-ball and went for four meaning they only needed 3 off 5 balls and then there were a couple of dot balls and a wicket, meaning 3 was required off 3 balls. Ringwood hit one behind the wicket and picked up 2 runs meaning the scores were tied. The next ball was a good delivery but they managed to get a single and the match was there’s an extremely good match which ended in a nail-biting style. In the end, Ringwood won by 1 wicket.

Good luck in your next match away to Totton & Ealing on the 3rd of June.
