MURRAY AND ARNOLD PICK UP INDOOR AWARDS

Johnny ‘Super’ Murray picked up an award from the indoor league for his quite astonishing hat-trick. Tom Arnold also picked up an award for completing the 3 stumpings off Johnny’s wides.

UNDER 11s MAINTAIN 100% INDOOR RECORD

The under 11s beat Wellow convincingly on Friday night. Bramshaw fielded first and restricted Wellow to 71 runs. In reply Jonty Loveless and Rory Stewart stormed to the target without losing a wicket ensuring Bramshaws U11s maintain their 100% winning record. The future looks bright!

BCC PLAYERS IN LEAGUE AVERAGES

Jon Wall came in 11th in the bowling averages in CD1 for the firsts taking 19 wickets @ 15.32. Jamie Terris fell just 8 runs short of being the leading run scorer in CD4S with 526 @ 52.60, which was the 5th best average. Tim Rogers came in 9th with 364 runs @40.44. Tony Alford’s 30 wickets @ 16.50 put him 18th in the RDNW3 bowling averages. Congratulations to all these players for having very good seasons.

STATS UP TO DATE

All 2009 stats are now up to date. Tim Rogers scored the most runs this season with 1157 and Tony Alford was the leading wicket taker with 46.

A.G.M.

The AGM will be held at The Bell in, Brook at 7.30 pm on the 8th December. All nominations for all captaincy positions should be e-mailed to Chris Rogers before the date.

UNDER 11s WIN AGAIN

Bramshaw pull off back to back wins beating Totton & Ealing by 79 runs to 6 6. The batting was held together by Jonty Loveless & Alex Scott-Duncan with some very steady and ticght bowling from Harry Cross. The mangement were once again delighted with the win especially with liam who was like a cat behind the stumps.

.EVERGREEN DEBUT LEADS TO FIRST INDOOR WIN

Bramshaw batted first once again against local rivals Cadnam and Andy Hart top scored with 35 not out on the way to a total of 137. In reply Cadnam were dumbstruck by Evergreens assortment of floaters and lost 2 wickets in their first 4 balls. Joe Coombs (also on debut) and Wuss Ingrem then bowled extremely well and Cadnam ended up being bowled out in just 8 overs. First win for the indoor team.

UNDER 11s WIN CLOSE GAME

Bramshaw beat Totton & Ealing by 1 run in their first indoor game of the season. Bramshaw batted first and scored 81. Cameron Crawford top scored with 14 supported by Declan Mason. In reply Totton were easing to victory when Rory Stewart (making his indoor debut) caught a one handed blinding catch to stun the Totton team and also the watching crowd. With Totton needing 5 off the last over captain dependable Jonty ‘the miser’ Loveless conceded only 3 runs and took a wicket for a most unlikely, and first ever, indoor victory. Manager Ben Arnold was almost speechless after the game.

INDOOR TEAM MAKE IT 2 FROM 2

The indoor team lost on Sunday night in a very close game. Batting first Bramshaw made 157 with stand in Captain Andy Hart retiring twice on his way to 55. In reply the opposition made steady progress inspite of some excellent fielding by Matt Reeve. Needing 14 off the last over they took apart Andy Harts off spin to win the game with 2 balls to spare.

UNDER 11s

The under 11s start their indoor league this Friday at Hounsdown school from 6pm until 7pm.

WINTER NETS

Nets have been booked at the Rose Bowl again this winter. These nets are for both adult members and also members of the new U15 team. The dates are 16th Feb, 16th Mar, 30th Mar, 13th Apr & 20th Apr. All sessions start at 7pm.

CHRISTMAS DINNER

The last payments are due for the Christmas dinner. Please post your final payment to Mark and Charlotte at the address they sent you in the reminder text.

REEVE & INGRAM RETIRE BUT BCC STILL LOSE

Captain Johnny Murray won the toss and decided to bat on Sunday against Romsey. Opener Andy Hart departed for 0, before some of the spectators realised the game had even started, before Matt Reeve steadied the ship with a quick 25 retired. Russ Ingram also came in at the end and smacked a quick 25 before retiring to give Bramshaw a slightly under par 102. In reply Russ and Matt both bowled with lots of discipline and Tom Arnold kept very well. The most economical bowler was Andy Hart with some probing spinning pasties. Bramshaw made Romsey work hard for runs with some exceptional fielding especially by Josh Arnold and needing 12 off the last over you could feel that the fielding side were feeling confident of a win. Johnny however bowled 3 wides and was hit for 6 so we lost.

LEAGUE SEASON MAY BE OVER BUT BRAMSHAW STILL PLAY ON

After a long hard struggle in the league, newly appointed Team Manager, Matt Alford’s “Super 8’s” enjoyed success in his first tournament in charge. Following the teams first training session on Sunday night which for some of the team involved drinking till daybreak and sleeping on hay bales, Matt’s all-stars went undefeated in the tournament held at Langley Manor, on Bank Holiday Monday. A delighted,Matt said ” I’m really pleased that the lads took notice of the training I had given them, especially my dad Evergreen, who I have taught to catch, Sheephead who I taught to stump people (8 stumpings in 4 games), Ginge who now knows how to bowl an over without any no-balls and wides in it and Georgie boy who succeeded following his training on hitting balls through pavilion windows!!!

THIRDS FINISH IN STYLE

The thirds finished off with a comprehensive win at Ampfield ending the season with 5 wins, hopefully that will be enough to keep us up. Phil won the toss and fielded and we soon had Ampfield in trouble, 3 wickets each from Nick ” pitch it up ” Darch and Evergreen along with wickets for jet lagged Will Moore and Ronaldo Vane saw us dismiss Ampfield for 88. Ronaldo and Limpit Linno opened up and made a solid start until Linno got a dodgy lbw decision bringing the in form Paul Bryant to the crease, he and Andy put on 50 to almost see us home and when Andy was dismissed out strode Stuart Stickland to finish the game with a flourish, (how wrong could i have been) Stuart proceeded  in a manner that would of made a certain Mr Spryer look like Viv Richards, but eventually we limped over the line and into the pub.   ps.  Pete the power Floyd managed at last to snaffle a slip catch (well done Pete). Finally i would like to thank everyone who has helped with Evergreen corner, without your dropped catches, farcical run outs and various bloopers i would have nothing to write each week, so see you all next season, Evergreen.

YOUNG GUNS SHOW THE FUTURE OF THE FIRSTS

The first team saw the future on Saturday when a very young team competed well against a strong Andover 2s. Lawrence Reeve opened the bowling and showed very good promise in a good spell before giving over to Callum Holloway who was very unlucky not to get many more than his 1 wicket due to a number of dropped catches. Jamie Martin opened the bowling from the other end and bowled his first 10 over spell for the firsts. When batting Callum played some lovely shots including a big 6 and with Lawrence put together a nice partnership. Thanks very much for everyone who helped out this season in the firsts including super groundsman Kev Gray, Scorers Val & Pat, all the tea ladies and finally to all the players who made the team have such a winning atmosphere in such a hard season. Despite the losses we always fought to the end and remained positive – I am looking forward to seeing the younger players evolve and take us back to CD1! Tarty.

All stats and player pages will be updated with this seasons averages by the end of September. Unfortunately this season we have not been able to update 2nd & 3rd team stats as often as we would have liked but we will look into this for next season.

MATT ALFORD SCORES FIRST TON

Matt Alford continued his good season with the bat by scoring his first ever 100 on Sunday. He finished on 118 for the club Xl.

3rds BEAT DAMERHAM

The 3rds pulled off a tremendous win against 4th placed Damerham this Saturday with an all round great performance. Evergreen lost the toss and we were asked to bat, 65 from Tim , 52 from Paul Bryant and a gutsy 13 from Pete the Power Floyd saw us reach a respectable 152 in 39 overs. Evergreen took an early wicket and with tight bowling from Andy Vane and Timmo we kept a tight reign on the run rate, then came the match winning spells by Nick Darch and Timmo, Nick 2 for 26 and Tim 5 for 25 combined with superb fielding  especially Paul Bryant and Kev Longman ( 4 catches) meant that Damerham only scored 139 in 42 overs giving us victory by 14 runs.

MCGILL TAKES CAREER BEST AS 2s WIN!

Captain Ian Mcgill took career best figures of 6-26 for the seconds today to secure a win against Langley Manor. The thirds were led by evergreen Alford to a win at Dagernham and the 1sts played well to test unbeaten Liss but just came up short with ‘old man’ Arnold playing out of his skin to score a 50 and bowl very well for 10 overs.

STUCHBURY’S 1ST 50 BRIGHT SPOT IN DULL WEEKEND

All three teams lost on Saturday. Ben Stuchbury batted very well for his maiden 1st team half century to provide one of the only bright spots for the 1sts. Johnny Murray also took a catch!

BRAMSHAW WIN THE LEAGUE!

Bramshaw won the Border League on the last day of the season. Although they lost the game they gained the 7 points needed to win the league. Congratulations to the team and captain Mike Kingston. Congratulations also to Jamie Martin who ended the year as the first division leading wicket taker.

BORDER LEAGUE PLATE FINAL

Bramshaw is to host the BL Plate final between Redlynch & Hale and Paultons on Thursday 30th July. If you are free please come down to the ground and help out. There will be something for you to do!

BORDER LEAGUE GOES TO THE WIRE

Bramshaw are playing their final BL match of the season tonight. A win would guarantee them the division 1 title. Please come and support the team tonight – it will be greatly appreciated!

BRAMSHAW SAVED BY THE RAIN AGAINST CUCKOO

On sunday the club played The Cuckoo who had Andrew Hart and Josh Arnold on their team, Tarty made a ton although he was dropped at least 5 times (3 OF THOSE BY MR J WALL ). Josh kept well and there were good spells of bowling by Tom Wall and the ever improving tyke Jack Rogers.  In reply Stu Stickland hit a half century in a game that ended in a draw. ps The pick of the bowlers was Matt (drop it short) Alford who was Tartied for 28 off 1 over.

3rds WIN

On a drizzly day at Farley we lost the toss and were put into bat on a damp muddy track, Timmo and Limpet Linno once again gave us a solid base with an opening stand of 55, Linno was out for a stubborn 14 and Timmo for 48, the ever improving Paul Bryant made a classy 41, Andy Vane 4, James Vane 14 and Evergreen 28 helped us to a good total of 181 in our 42 overs.Phil and Evergreen bowled the first 20 overs keeping there run total nice and low, Phil finished with 1 for 28 and Evergreen 2 for 15 but the first wicket was a sharp bit of fielding by Joshy Arnold who swooped from square leg and got the ball to Kev Longman and ran out the batsman. Timmo took 4 for 27 in 8 overs in a great spell and a wicket each from Andy Vane and Will Moore saw us wrap up the game bowling Farley out for 119 giving us our third win in four games.Comedy highlights of the day included Evergreen calling for a catch off his own bowling when the ball was landing on top of the wicket keeper and Andy Vanes impression of Christiano Ronaldo when he took a ball on his chest then to his shoulder then to his thigh and finaly he half volleyed it over the boundary.

1sts OUT OF RELEGATION ZONE!

The firsts won away at Bedhampton on Saturday to lift them out of the bottom three for the first time this season. Bramshaw asked Bedhampton to bat first. Jon Wall creaked through his 10 overs to give up just 16 runs before Kev Gray kept the pressure on going for just 24 runs off his 10 overs. Johnny Murray continued his good bowling form at the death taking three crucial wickets. Matt Reeve, Jamie Martin and Mike Kingston also bowled very well. Tom Arnold Kept very tidily on a rain affected wicket. In return every batsman chipped in but the stand out performers were George Gray with a bright and breezy 30 and Mike Kingston who kept his cool to see the side home. Mike and Kev put on 26 for the 10th wicket to push the 1sts over the finish line.

COLTS BBQ

There is a BBQ planned for Friday the 24th July at 6.30pm. All juniors and their parents are welcome. If you have any brothers or sisters of any age please bring them along too!

BL LOSE SEMI TO TROJANS

The Border League team finally lost a game in the cup semi-final at Trojans. After being put into bat Bramshaw got off to a mini flyer before the Trojans opening bowlers started to take wickets. BRamshaw managed just 99 in their 18 overs. In reply the Trojans openers batted very sensibly and knocked off the runs with ease. The team are still top of the league table however.

3RDS WIN SECOND OF SEASON

We arrived at Steeple Langford expecting the game to be called off, but amazingly the weather was fine and after Phil lost the toss we were asked to bat. Timmo and Linno had a very good knocko putting on 87 for the first wicko, Tim scored 58 and the limpet like Linno was second out for 23. John Reeve had obviously used up all his credit with the lord asking for the rain to stay away because he got a third ball duck, Paul Bryant 17 and Dave the rave cooper 15 kept the score ticking along but the late order stars were father and son combo Andy and James Vane with a partnership of 51, Andy 44 and James 17. Will Moore and Nick Darch were not out in a good total of 214. With the weather closing in Phil and Evergreen opened the bowling in a race to complete 20 overs, after taking 2 wickets each we came off for rain with 18.5 overs bowled and the score on 40 for 4, but after a short break we were back on to finish the job. Timmo took 2 quick wickets but on his hatrick ball he no balled ( jug avoidance without doubt). The rain then stopped us again and Steeple Langford finished on 48 for 6 giving us the win. Phil asked me to put his figures on Evergreen corner, so here they are. 50 48 32

U13s BEAT LANGLEY B

Bramshaw batted first and the openers Marcus Buchan (25) and Tom Simpson (30 retired) put on 59 to set up the Bramshaw score. Andy Richards (18*) and Lawrence Reeve (32 retired) both batted extremely well to help the team score 128 off their 18 overs. In return Tom Wall (1-13), Andy Richards (2-0) and Josh Arnold (3-1) bowled very well supported by some excellent catching and ground fielding. A very good all round team performance.

EVERGREEN STOP PRESS

Johnny Murray takes 2 (yes thats 2 catches) and scores 102 not out in sundays game, Tom Arnold stumped again on 91 and 3 wickets for Tommy Wall in a victory over Newport Gents.

1sts & 2nds WIN

The first team beat Eastleigh & Otterbourne at home on Saturday. Batting first Bramshaw got off to a good start with their highest opening partnership of the year (46!) before losing 7 wickets for only 100 runs left them in trouble at 146/7. Korn (50) and Ginge (76*) then rescued the batting with some controlled agression to take the team total to a respectable 279. Eastleigh and Otterbourne got off to a flyer and were looking good before Johnny Murray came on to close the game out for the firsts with 7 overs of quality bowling to take 4 wickets. U11s WIN LAST BALL THRILLER

The under 11s won their game on Sunday against Michelmarsh off the last ball of the match. Michelmarsh scored 255 in their overs with Ben taking a good caught and bowled. In reply Bramshaw reached 256 with Rory hitting his first ever 4.

U13s WIN 2 IN A ROW

The U13s won their second game in a row away at Redlynch. They produced their best bowling and fielding display of the season to restrict Redlynch to 51 off their 18 overs. Taylor Vane (2-4) & Ryan Purchase (1-15) opened the bowling before Josh Whitmarsh (1-9), James Mason (2-16) & Tom Patterson (0-4) all bowled well supported by some good catching by Marcus Buchan and Tom Patterson. In reply Marcus Buchan (14) scored quickly to get Bramshaw off to a good start before Josh Whitmarsh hit a quick 9 runs and then stand in captain Theo Wildridge guided his team across the winning line with 6 overs left. A fantastic team performance by the U13s!

1sts WIN!

The 1sts won their first game of the season today against Portchester. George Gray (47) and Korn (40) batted well to get Bramshaw to an acceptable score of 168 ao on a pitch that had been dampened by overnight rain. Bramshaw then fielded and bowled beautifully to bowl Portchester out for 122. Jon Wall (3-24) & Mike Kingston (2-32) opened the bowling and took regular wickets, aided by some brilliant fielding, to peg portchester back. Jamie Martin (4-33) and Kev Marshall (1-29) then finished it off for the Bramshaw win. Adam Ridgway returned from Dubai to take a fantastic catch on the boundary which inspired the win!

U13s DESTROY WINTERSLOW FOR FIRST WIN

Bramshaw scored 85 for 5 off 16 overs with Lawrence Reeve retiring on 30 and Josh Arnold scoring 19 with James Mason & Andy Richards also playing well. Winterslow were reduced to 57 for 9 off their overs with Tom Wall taking 2 wickets and Taylor Vane once again producing a tight spell of bowling. A fantastic all round performance.

BORDER LEAGUE TEAM STAY TOP

Last night the BL team beat Redlynch and Hale at home to maintain their position at the top of the table. After a quick start Redlynch were pegged back by a good spell by Michael West to finish on a total of 116/9. Bramshaw reached the total after just 11.5 overs with Jamie Terris and Matt Alford both batting well. On Saturday the first team lost a close game to Locks Heath. Bramshaw fielded first and Locks Heath scored 274. In reply Andy Hart (112) batted well but Bramshaw were 20 runs short in the end. Last Thursday the U13s lost at Hyde. They were bowled out for 56 with Lawrence Reeve once again retiring. Taylor Vane and Lawrence Reeve opened the bowling and with the opposition at 14/5 after their spells Bramshaw were in with a shout but Hyde batted well in the end to win the match.

THE GINGER MACHINE ROLLS ON

The Border League team won tonight away at Trojans. Bramshaw batted first and Andy Hart, Ricky Rawlings and Jimmy “switch hit” Manning all batted well to get the team up to a score of 189 off their 18 overs. In reply Jamie Martin bowled fantastically taking 5 wickets to help bowl out Trojans for 119. Matt Alford continued his wicket taking form with another 2 wickets. Bramshaw are top of the Border League table. The latest version can be seen here. Last night the U13s lost in the cup to Hythe & Dibden.

U11s WIN FOR THE FIRST TIME

On Sunday the U11’s won their first game this year with a really outstanding performance. Sam Barcia won the toss and showed his intentions by batting first.  In a great display of pairs batting, one person from each pair dominated without taking all the strike. Declan Mason following on from his excellent display of batting on Friday let his partner Jonty Loveless take control and as a pair they scored plus 13 runs. The second pair of Alex Scott Duncan and Cameron Crawford (got your name right at last Callum) showed running between the wickets that the rest of the club should look at!!!!!!  They finished on plus 20 runs, which was brilliant. Tom Mason and Harry Cross showed more solid batting and let the opposition score the runs for them with wides and ended with plus 19 runs, well done. Sam Barcia and Liam Houghton ended the batting, Sam hitting the ball a long way in his normal style. They finished with plus 24 runs which is the most a pair have scored so far this year. With all the positives of the batting, the bowling and fielding was unbelievable from the start of the season. They will have to do well to improve on their performance this year. Sam bowled his 3 overs for 8 runs with 2 wickets and so ended up with bowling figures of -2 runs.  Declan, Tom and Jonty bowled well to their normal great level (by the way Declan is only 9 years old).  Alex, Harry and Cameron continue to take great strides forward with their bowling and are now a strong part of the team.  All this said the two biggest shouts go to Liam for his wicket keeping (the first time he has even put the gloves on) and the outstanding catching (George look out) as they didn’t drop a catch.

GINGER TON

Mike Kingston continued his fantastic batting form this season by scoring his first ever 100 on Sunday for the Club Xl vs Bournemouth Wanderers at Bramshaw.

U13s LOSE AWAY TO ALDERHOLT

The under 13s won the toss against Alderholt and chose to field first. Both James Mason (2-20) and Taylor Vane (3-17) bowled well in Alderholts total of 88. This was the best overall bowling performance by the U13s this year with only 7 wides bowled in the 18 overs. In reply the Alderholt opening bowlers bowled very economically and in the end Bramshaw did well to get up to 65 in their alloted overs. Josh Whitmarsh carried his bat for 15* and Lawrence Reeve once again retired on 30*. A much improved display by the U13s!

ALL 3 TEAMS LOSE ON SATURDAY

All 3 teams lost on Saturday. Highlights include Mike Kingston scoring a 20 ball 50 for the 1sts and Theo Wildridge’s debut as 3rd team wicket keeper. The colts also lost last Thursday to Wellow. Lawrence Reeve top scored with 34 and Taylor Vane took 4-12. Jon Wall also scored a very quick hundred for the Club Xl on Sunday.

BRAMSHAW COLTS STAR FOR NEW FOREST

Two young Bramshaw colts have starred for the New Forest rep side in a local cricket festival. Tom Arnold opened the batting and scored 101 not out and Callum Holloway scored 50 not out. They came together on 99 for 6 and put on a partnership of 121 for a record 7 wicket partnership. Tom Arnold now goes on the Lord Taverners board for under 16s who score a hundred in rep cricket. Pat Hart is also scoring for the England over 60s this week.

CALYPSO J-MAC TOP SCORES AS 1sts LOSE

The first team were beaten by Calmore on Saturday at Loperwood. The highlight of the game was Jamie Martin’s calypso style knock of 35 off 23 balls which helped Bramshaw to 194. In reply Bramshaw had Calmore in early trouble as Mike Kingston & Jon Wall bowled well but bad fielding and some good batting from Calmore saw them home easily in the end. The U13s also lost to Calmore last Thursday. After fielding first Lawrence Reeve & Tom Simpson bowled well to restrict Calmore but some good batting helped them reach a score of 86. Theo Wildridge kept wicket very well, letting no byes through. Taylor Vane batted very well in reply but Bramshaw fell just 9 runs short. Don’t forget the monk!

BORDER LEAGUE BEAT TOTTON & EALING

Mike Kingston and Jamie Martin once again bowled well at the beginning of the inning to restrict Totton & Ealing to 62 in their 15 overs. Jamie Terris continued his good form with some fantastic hitting to guide Bramshaw home with 10 wickets in hand. Monks report here.

SECONDS TRIUMPHANT AT HOME

The second team lead by new captain Ian Mcgill were victorious on saturday against Havant 3. After restricting Havant to just over 200 Bramshaw knocked off the runs swiftly with Tim Rogers continuing his early season good form with his second century of the year – Tim also scored 31 off one over but was heard saying after the game “I didnt fancy buying 2 jugs so just nudged the 6th ball for a single.” He was well supported by Jamie Terris as Bramshaw eased home. BOTH COLTS TEAMS LOSE OPENERS

The under 11s were beaten on Sunday by Hyde at home. Declan Mason fielded and bowled very well for Bramshaw. On Thursday night the U13s travelled to a cold and wet Farley pitch and were convincingly beaten by the home team. Tom Simpson was the pick of the bowlers and Lawrence Reeve batted very well to retire on 30.

RETURN OF THE MONK

GINGER MACHINE OFF TO A FLYER

New Border League captain Mike Kingston started his captaincy with a win away to Mottisfont this evening. Bramshaw batted first and scored 113 in their alloted overs. George Gray was the pick of the batsmen with an agricultural 33*. Mike Kingston and Jamie Martin opened the bowling and took 5 wickets between them to limit Mottisfont’s progress towards a final total of 43. Josh Arnold bowled the over of the day in the 17th Over. The batsmen tried to launch every ball for 6 but missed all of them by at least a foot as Josh dazzled him with his prodigious spin. The club also progressed to the next round of the VKO with an easy 10 wicket win on Sunday. Jon Wall and Jamie Terris both scored half centuries.

WIN ONE LOSE ONE ON OPENING WEEKEND

On Saturday the Club Xl lost to a strong Calmore side. Jamie Terris top scored with an elegant 50 and James Whitcher bowled well for 3 wickets. On Sunday Bramshaw restricted Burridge to 249 in 40 overs. In reply Tim Rogers (105) and Andy Hart (75) put on a partnership of 169 to see Bramshaw home in a close game. Next Sunday is the first round of the Village Knockout starting at 2pm – come and support your club.

BORDER LEAGUE FIXTURES

COLTS OUTDOOR PRACTICE DATES

Colts outdoor practices will start (weather permitting) on Friday the 17th April for the under 11s and Monday the 20th April for the under 13s. If the weather looks iffy please contact Ben Arnold to find out if the practices are still on

MURRAY WINS CUP FOR BRAMSHAW!

Bramshaw won the Romsey indoor plate final this evening beating Mottisfont. Batting first Andy Hart (24) got Bramshaw off to a good start before Johnny Murray (49*) finished off the innings to Give BCC a competitive total of 137. Johnny Murray, Jon Wall, Tom Beresford & Mike Kingston all bowled well in reply to bowl Mottisfont out. Tom Arnold kept tidily but unbelievably Mike Kingston was the star of the fielding performance with 3 catches!

 

INDOOR TEAM INTO PLATE FINAL

The indoor team beat M&T in the plate semi-final to reach the final this Sunday. Andy Hart hit 75 not out in Bramshaw’s total of 155. Jon Wall, Ben Arnold, Tom Beresford & Gary Blake all bowled well to restrict M&T in reply.

U11s TIE LAST GAME Of INDOOR LEAGUE

The under 11s tied their last indoor league game against West Wellow with Harry Cross hitting the last ball for 3 runs to tie the game. Ryan Brown also hit the first six for the Under 11s in the Indoor League. Well done to the Under 11s team as they have all improved a great deal and are now looking forward to the outdoor season.

VILLAGE KNOCKOUT DRAW

The nPower Village Cup draw for 2009 is now available. Bramshaw have been drawn against Hurstbourne Priors at home on the 3rd May. The full draw is available here.

BRAMSHAW MISS OUT ON INDOOR LEAGUE TITLE

Bramshaw missed out on winning the Romsey indoor league division 2 by just one point as they lost to Wellow on the final game of the season. The indoor league cup starts on the 8th March 2009.

RULE CHANGES FOR 2009

At the recent HCL AGM it was decided that the maximum number of overs each bowler can bowl is to be reduced from 12 to 10 overs a match. Also in County Division 1 the number of overs per innings has increased from 48 to 50. As a result all first team games will start nice and early at 1pm.

CHRISTMAS MEAL 2009

This years Christmas meal has been booked for the 19th December at the Rose Bowl and will cost £49.50pp. This will be the fourth Christmas meal the club has booked and each one has been a very succesful and fun evening. If you are interested please contact Mark Angel. A deposit of £15 is required to book your place.

NETS

The AGM will be held at 7.30pm on the 9th December at the Bell Inn, Bramshaw. This is your opportunity to vote in the captains of each of the teams and to vote on other club issues. Nominations for captains and vice captains of all teams must be recieved before the AGM. If you would like to nominate anyone for any of the captaincy & vice captaincy positions please contact Chris Rogers.

BRAMSHAW PLAYERS AMONGST LEAGUE AVERAGES

Tony Alford won the bowling award and topped the averages in CD4C with 28 wickets at 8.89. Tony’s son Matt was 16th in the batting averages in RD4C. Tim Rogers was 13th in the bowling averages with 21 wickets at 15.67. Andy Hart was 8th in the batting averages in CD1 with 577 runs at 41.21.

INDOOR TEAM 3 for 3

The indoor team have now won their first three games in the Romsey League after a comprehensive win against Cadnam on Sunday. Bramshaw batted first and both Andy Hart and Jon Wall retired with scores over 25. Tom Arnold also batted well for 22. In reply Bramshaw restricted Cadnam well with Gary Blake, Andy Hart & Tim Rogers being the pick of the bowlers.

START OF INDOOR LEAGUE

The club started its new indoor season in the Romsey league with a comprehensive defeat of Wellow C. Batting first Bramshaw scored 177 in their 12 overs with both Jon Wall and Tom Arnold having to retire. In return Bramshaw restricted Wellow with a decent bowling performance to a score of 110.
