Bramshaw 3rds vs Hampton Park 2010

We arrived at Hampton Park with 10 players and no great expectations but it turned out to be a great game with a thrilling finish. Evergreen lost the toss and Hampton chose to bat.

Steady opening spells from Evergreen and forgetful Angry Dom (whites and shoes) kept the scoring down.

Next to bowl was Joe Cunningham and Charlie Plumbley who bowled 5 fantastic overs each to keep us well in the game. Alex Clarke bowled a good fill-in over before Evergreen, Angry and Doctor Hodder finished the innings off along with Charlie who bowled the last over. Andy took 3 wickets, Evergreen and Charlie took 1 each and in the field, Marcus Buchan was impressive along with a spritely Chris Plumbly who took a fantastic catch at mid-on.

Hampton Park finished on 210. John Reeve and Linno got us off to a fantastic start with a 3rd team record opening stand of 92 before Linno was caught for a gritty 38, Evergreen came and went, Angry hit a quick 24 then John was out for 58 leaving Andy and the colts to try and get us home.

Charlie and Alex hit good runs and with 1 ball remaining we needed 4 to tie or a 6 to win but alas it was a dot ball. Well done Andy who’s stunning 37 almost got us home.
