INDOOR TEAM MARCH ON

The indoor team continue undefeated in the league and have just won their first cup match. Could a league and cup double be on the cards?

INDOOR SEASON STARTS THIS WEEK
The indoor cricket season starts this Sunday at the new venue of Fleming Park. If you would like to play please contact Tom Arnold.
The presentation day was a huge success this past Saturday. The picture above is of Ethan Baker who won the U9s Batting and Bowling awards presented by Brian Leavey. The adults trophies were presented by Hazel & Ronnie Eckton. The weather was perfect as was the food which was organised superbly by Emma Eckton. Thanks to Emma and everyone else who made the day a big success
FIRSTS WIN THE LEAGUE
The first team ended the season on a damp day losing to Portsmouth 2. Scoring only 142 in the first innings the firsts were short of runs and Portsmouth won the game with relative ease. Johnny Murray produced all the highlights of the game with some excellent fielding including 2 run outs. The season as a whole has been fantastic with every player chipping in when needed. Mark, Andy & Ginge all took 20 plus wickets with J-MAC leading the way with 38. Andy just missed out on a 1000 runs and was well supported by Boothy (459 runs) and Zane (410 runs) with Johnny Ginge and Jo also batting well. The atmosphere in the team has been the best ever lead brilliantly by Zane. As the seconds stayed up a great year for the club.
CAPTAIN MARVELLOUS LEADS FIRSTS TO TITLE
Chasing 172 to win Captain Zane scored his maiden Bramshaw century to easily secure the win at Langley Manor. He was well supported by Josephine Coombs as they put on a partnership of 172 which saw Bramshaw get the win and also enough points to win the title with a game to spare. Ben Arnold, who dismissed Langleys best batsman, and Mark Angel were the pick of the bowlers as both picked up 3 wickets. The biggest surprise of the afternoon though was Ginge finally took a catch!
KAUSH SPINS IT - 1STS WIN
Bowling first Ginge and Mangel proved very economical early doors picking up 3 wickets between them. J-mac got 2 but the star performer was Kaush who bowled beautifully to pick up his first 3 wickets for the 1sts leaving Gosport on 167 off 45. In reply Tarty scored 101* and Josephine a nifty fifty to see the team home for the loss of just 2 wickets with 7 overs to spare.
BAILEY CONTINUES GREAT FORM - 2NDS WIN
The seconds fielded first and bowled out Redlynch for just 99 with Bailey Loveless bowling beautifully to end up with 4 wickets for just 26 runs. In reply the seconds were in trouble chasing down the low total but reached the target with 2 wickets remaining. The firsts travelled to Sarisbury and bowling first struggled to contain the Sarisbury batsman who scored 287. In reply the 1sts were always in control with Tarty stroking 152 supported by Zane and Josephine. Tay-Tay, playing in his last match of the season, hit the winning runs to keep the firsts top.
1STS WIN AGAIN
Zane won the toss and chose to bowl. Ginge and Boothy started things off well picking up wickets before Paultons had a good partnership in the middle to take them to 173-8. In reply a hobbling Boothy scored 27 and Ginge scored 26 to help Tarty who scored 109 to see the 1sts home for another great win.
BAILEY BAMBOOZLES FOR THE 2ND GAME IN A WEEK
Bailey Loveless was the pick of the bowlers in Bramshaw's loss to Trojans in the BL on Tuesday taking 2 wickets in 4 overs for just 8 runs. This whilst bowling to the leading run scorer in the league. Unfortunately the other bowlers couldnt back him us as Bramshaw lost a tight last game of the season. Bailey then continued his good form by taking 2-16 off 7 overs in a touring game on Thursday. The other notable feat from the game was Delicate Dave being outscored by his daughter Ellie in a 50 partnership which is the first time they have ever batted together.
TARTY TEES OFF - 1STS WIN
Batting first Calmore were in trouble early at 50-5 before a comeback helped them get to 153. All 5 bowlers used picked up 2 wickets. In reply Boothy (45) and Tarty (89) smashed the ball to all parts to get the team close but with 3 needed to win Tarty tried to hit his 4th consecutive 6 and was caught behind. 3 wickets were lost for 0 runs before 4 byes won the match to leave the 1sts top.
M-ANGEL ROLLS BACK YEARS - 1STS WIN
Batting first Bramshaw struggled to 154 all out on a tough pitch with Boothy (43) being the pick of the batters. In reply Mangel bowled with a superb rhythm to pick up 3-18 off his 10 overs. The fielding was superb and Mangel took a worldy catch on the 45 off Barn's bowling. J-Mac bowled rubbish uphill but with venom and accuracy downhill being inches away from a hat-trick. Ginge then came on and cleaned up the oppositions tail finishing with figures of 3-21 as they were getting closer to the target. In the end they fell just 19 runs short. Another superb win.
KAUSH SMASHES FIRST EVER 50
Kaush opened the batting with Taylor chasing down 177 to win. After Taylor retired on 50 it did not take Kaush long to copy his bumchum in also getting a 50. His first in any form of cricket (including back garden & X-Box). Bramshaw ended up just short of the chase in a very good evening friendly.
J- MAC BOWLS FAST - 1STS WIN
Zane lost the toss and Bramshaw were asked to field. Once again J-Mac and Ginge bowled very quickly and once again J-Mac picked up 5 wickets to restrict Mudeford to 121 all out. In reply Tarty and Boothy knocked the runs off for 0 wicket in 13 overs. Tidy win to stay top.
1STS WIN STAY TOP
Batting first on an absolute road the firsts posted a big total of 349. The big partnership of 234 (just 2 runs off a first team all time record) between Tarty (146) and Zane (85) laid the platform for some quick runs scored down the order by Johnny. In reply Southampton Communities kept losing wickets to be bowled out for 140 with Tarty looping his way to a 5-for. A great win to see the firsts extend their lead at the top of the table.
BL TEAM INTO SEMIS
The Border League team had a close match with Paultons last night in the BL Cup quarters. Having picked 12 men skipper J-Mac showed his ruthless side by making the tough decision to drop George 2 minutes before the start time. Batting first Bramshaw scored 179 with Tarty and Boothy batting well. In reply Bramshaw started well before some mammoth hitting from Paultons made things tight. Boothy took the crucial wickets however that take the team through to a well deserved Semi Final against Romsey & OTs @ Romsey.
T-WALL HITS SIX - 2NDS WIN
The 2nds batted first at home on Saturday and scored 183 with Lawrence Reeve starring with the bat scoring 87. The highlight of the innings however had to be Tom Walls first ever six in all cricket. In reply Bailey Loveless spun his magic to take 4 wickets for just 12 runs to secure a fantastic win.
1STS WIN THRILLER IN SWAY
Sway batted first and although Bramshaw did not field well at all they were restricted to 179 off their 45 overs with the wickets shared around the bowlers. In reply Bramshaw were cruising with Boothy and Tarty before a mini collapse saw us needing 5 off the last over for the win. J-Mac moosed the winning runs with 2 balls to spare to save the day. Another good win!
SUPER VANE TAKES STUNNER - 1STS WIN
Captain Zane inserted Cadnam for this top of the table clash in County 3 and they were put in trouble straight away with Mark Angel removing both openers. Cadnam's number 3, who routinely murders Bramshaw bowling in the border league, then came to the crease and smashed a long hop from Ginge to backward point where Taylor Vane flew threw the air and plucked a stunning left handed catch to dismiss him. Bramshaw then kept taking wickets at regular intervals to bowl Cadnam out for 83. The bowlers bowled very well with Mangel taking the most wickets (3-20) supported by Jay (2-13), Ginge (2-24), Boothy (2-20) & Tarty (1-1). The bowlers were backed up by the best Bramshaw fielding display in many a year with not one dropped catch or misfield all afternoon and both Taylor and Mark taking worldly catches. In reply Boothy and Tarty knocked off the runs with ease for the win.
1STS WIN GO TOP
Put into bat the 1sts were struggling at 43-5 before George Gray joined Andy Hart (who went past 8000 runs for the first team in his innings of 78) to steady the ship putting on a partnership of 86. Mike Kingston then played one of his best ever innings of 60* to lead the 1sts to 234. In reply Bramshaw bowled tightly with Mike bowling extremely well taking 1-12. J-Maccy, Andy, George and Mangel all picked up 2 wickets each for a comfortable win in the end which leaves the firsts top of the table. The seconds lost a local derby to Nomansland however Tom Mason took his best ever figures for Bramshaw of 4-20. Well bowled Tommy.
2NDS WIN THRILLER
The seconds bowled first and bowled Fawley 3 out for 180. In reply the seconds looked to be in trouble before John Roberts scored 54 and took the team over the line by scoring the inning runs off the last ball of the match!
TARTY CHUCKS PIES - 1STS WIN
Zane won the toss and the 1sts fielded first. Mark and Ginge bowled economically with the new ball before J-Wacko-Macko came on to bowl waywardly to pick up 3 wickets leaving Hambledon 4 down at drinks. After drinks the spin twins came on and although Ben bowled tightly he just couldn't produce the magical wicket taking deliveries that Tarty did as he took 6-30 to bowl Hambeldon out for 130. In reply Zane and Boothy smashed it to all parts leaving Josephine and Ginge to knock off the winning runs with nearly 20 overs to spare.
BRAMSHAW WIN PRE SEASON FRIENDLY

On a bitterly cold day at Bramshaw we were asked to bat first by Knights Valley in a 35 over per side match.  Jamie Martin decided to make an early season move to be considered as an opener. His optimism was short lived however swinging across the line to a slower ball putting him out of his misery for a painful score of 2. Stuart was joined by Ginge who made steady progress until Stuart fell for a good 30. Joe and Ginge then proceeded to make light of pre season in a stand exceeding 150. Ginge retired on 101. Joe was joined by Ben who hit a brisk undefeated 45 in about 6 overs. Joe continued to bat before retiring with one ball left in the innings on 104. Bramshaw finished on 287 in their 35 overs. Knights Valley started their reply well but struggled to keep up with the asking rate closing on 204 after their 35 overs. Dec Mason opened the bowling for Bramshaw and bowled some good balls. Bailey Loveless was the pick of the bowlers bowling the last 8 overs from the top end and taking 2 for 37 at a time when the batters were trying to hit everything. Special mention to Tom Wall who attempted to take two caught and bowled efforts off his bowling which came back at him like tracer bullets. On such a cold day we could all feel his pain as the ball smacked into his cold hands (and popped out again). Overall it was a good pre season game to play – it just could have been about 20 degrees warmer to be enjoyable.

2015 TOUR
The 2015 tour has unfortunatley had to be cancelled as their are no teams in North Devon free on the weekend we had chosen. We are hoping to organise a tour for 2016.
