Nomansland Cricket Club Legend

Phil Baker

Phil was an excellent all round cricketer for NCC over many seasons. Took the new ball when he first joined the club, and his fierce competitive nature was perfect for the role. He was also a stubborn left hand bat who could bat anywhere in the order, and in his later career became a very tidy wicket keeper. He was for several latter years the 'club plumber', always on hand in case of leaks after a hard winter!
His best bowling for the club was a superb 8-28 against Beaulieu in the New Forest League in 1990, for which he was awarded the NCC best performance of that year.
